The Jackson Noon Optimist Club sponsors two scholarships to qualified seniors, as well as provides financial assistance to projects and groups such as -We also sponsor two students to Girl's State and Boy's State each year, coordinated thru the American Legion Aux.

Our club is an active member of the Cape Girardeau Area Safe Communities Organization, and we are able to purchase our bike helmets at a reduced price thru the Safe Kids group.
Our International slogan is "FRIEND OF YOUTH" and our brand is "Bringing out the best in Kids." We make every effort to cooperate with any organiztion who shares these goals. Any time that we can make a positive "difference" in the life of a child, we are one step closer to that better tomorrow.
Our club members are very supportive of each other and are always willing to lend a helping hand.

| JANUARY | Girl's Basketball - conducted for 6 weeks at Orchard Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and Jackson Junior High School |

Essay Contest - Optimist International Program for Senior High Youth Oractorical Contest - Optimist International Program for Youth |
| MARCH | Youth in Goverment Day - High school students hold an election to determine who will hold various City and County offices for a day. These "student elected officials" spend an entire day learning about the responsibilities of their office and fulfilling the duties required. |
| APRIL |
Annual Park Day - join other organizations and city officials in cleaning, planting, and "sprucing up" the City Park. (Safety City, USA in particular.) Last Sat. in April.
Art Fair - held at Jackson Middle School. We help the Jackson R-2 art dept. wherever necessary at the annual event |
| MAY | "Respect for Law" - Optimist International Program that we promote in our area through the cooperation of the Jackson Police Dept. and the Cape County Sheriff's Dept.
"Safety City, USA" - Safety classes for children ages K-3. We teach traffic, bicycle, & fire safety to area kids each Sat. and provide them with FREE bike helmets and lots of safety information. |

| AUGUST | Jackson City Library Reading Program
Homecomers 5K run - help sponsor and run this event. "Back to School" picnic - for guests, club members, and children. A favorite event for our club members and their children. Lots of FUN, FOOLISHNESS, & FOOD! |
